New leader: “It’s a privilege”

05. March 2019 | Johannes Larsen Museum

When Jeppe Priess Gersbøll took over as head of department at the Johannes Larsen Museum in February, it was at a place he already knew quite well.

After Mette Ladegaard Thygesen was given a new area of responsibility in the Museums of Eastern Funen, namely Nyborg Castle and Heritage, a successor was found, to be the new department head at the Johannes Larsen Museum. It is 31-year old Jeppe Priess Gersbøll from Copenhagen, who started in his new position at the museum on Feb.1, 2019.

Jeppe Priess Gersbøll has a PhD in Art History from the University of Copenhagen and was previously employed as a clerk in the Agency for Culture and Palaces. He worked for other museums prior to that, such as The Hirschprung Collection,The Nivaagaard Collection, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, The National Museum and The National Gallery of Denmark, where he wrote his PhD.
