Ornithological Artists Selected

29. May 2019 |

Artists have now been selected for the BIRD 2019 exhibition, which will be more comprehensive than ever before.

“We are planning an exhibition featuring more works than ever before,” says the Museum’s curator, Troels Malthe Borch, who is also curating the exhibition. “We are hoping to make room for 175 works. So it will be a pretty tightly-packed exhibition, but also an exhibition, which will hopefully impress visitors with an abundance of excellent, beautiful, fascinating and innovative examples of ornithological art.”
From the 376 artists and 1,177 involved in the open-call process, a jury has now selected 65 artists to feature in BIRD 2019, each exhibiting one or more works. They will be joined by 10 artists, which the Johannes Larsen Museum invited to exhibit. Those 10 artists all featured in the exhibition, BIRD in 2016.

The exhibition, which will be presented in the ‘Vingen’ exhibition gallery, will be open to the public from 28 September at the Johannes Larsen Museum.
