Welcome to Møllebakken

Guest at Møllebakken

The Johannes Larsen Museum is publishing a book in English about the artists’ home and museum.

In 2016, the Johannes Larsen Museum and the Museums of Eastern Funen published an introductory book about the artists’ home and museum, which has sold very well ever since.

We are now ready to offer the English edition of the same book, so we can have a publication about the museum for our many foreign visitors. An introductory book in English has been sought after for many years, and now, thanks to a donation from the Kerteminde Area Museum Association, we have been able to publish it.

Translated by Larsen’s grandchild and great-grandchild

Mette Ladegaard Thøgersen’s Danish text has been in the capable hands of Johannes Larsen’s granddaughter, Ane Talbot, her husband, Bernard and their daughter, Kamilla, who together have translated the book to English. This branch of the Larsen family lives in the US, and therefore has both the linguistic talents and the special insight to know what the museum’s foreign visitors need to know about the place. The Talbot family always spends most of the summer in Kerteminde, and therefore has a close connection with the museum. At the museum we are very pleased that Ane, Bernard and Kamilla Talbot were willing to take on the big translation project.

Buy the book

Guest at Møllebakken, as the book is called, is sold at the museum, and at the Museums of Eastern Funen’s webshop, for 78 kr. This is the same price as the Danish edition. We hope that the book will be well-received by our foreign visitors.
