Tid: Monday to Friday, Oct. 16 - 20, from 11 AM - 3 PM
Sted: The Johannes Larsen Museum
Come and embroider with the originator of the Ladby Tapestry, Inge Svensmark.
Come to sewing school at the Johannes Larsen Museum in the Autumn Break and learn how to embroider, using the stitches from the Ladby Tapestry. Walk in the footsteps of the embroiderers and try your hand with a kit that contains a motif from the tapestry.
The Ladby Tapestry is a 7-metre long embroidered picture that tells the story of the Ladby Ship. It was inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, which was also embroidered on linen with plant-dyed wool, using the Bayeux stitch.
You don’t need to have any particular skills to take part in the sewing school. You can take part for one day, but since embroidery does require getting absorbed in the activity, you are welcome to sign up for more than one day.
Price for participation:
Adults: 100 kr. per day, including materials and admission to the museum
Children: 50 kr. per day (children under 18 have free admission to the museum)
There is a limit of 10 participants on a given day in the sewing school.
