Funen Spring

Tid: July 6 - October 6, 2019
Sted: Johannes Larsen Museum

The Funen Spring Exhibition celebrates 90 years.

In most places, artists’ collectives have long since been disbanded, but on Funen, the idea lives on in the best of health. In 2019, the artists’ group called the Funen Spring Exhibition will be 90 years old. The occasion will be celebrated with an anniversary exhibition including both earlier and current member artists.

The anniversary exhibition “Funen Spring” aims to show the artists that started the Danish artists’ collective on Funen, based on already-established models for emulation, and to show how the collective has carried the torch right up to the present day, where the annual exhibition still presents itself as very much alive and innovating.

At the exhibition, 17 of the artist members who have passed away and exhibited before 2000, will be represented. At the same time, the 17 current members of the group will exhibit their works. They are:

Together, the former and current artist members draw a picture of an active artists’ collective on Funen that has roots and threads connecting it to the whole country.
